Whenever I take a bath, I typically turn the hot water all the way on, and leave the cold water faucet alone. I was wondering if doing this was in any way harmful to my health. I prefer hot water for some reason, even though sometimes the water makes my skin turn a little red while I'm in the bath tub.

Should I start taking cooler baths? (Yes, I know this is a weird question, but I was just wondering.)

Hot baths feel great. I like the feeling of relaxation afterward. Only thing is, it can dry out your skin really badly. Also, if a person suffers from a heart condition or high blood pressure, I think it's a bad idea. In Japan, many people enjoy getting into very hot tubs.
It's for health purposes. However, I guess it's up to the individual and their health.

Yes, there's such a thing as too hot. Usually people are sensitive to temperature and are unlikely to get into a bath that is hot enough to damage their skin. I think you may be bathing in water that is so hot it dries out your skin.

I do the same thing, typically the hot water starts running out as it fills up which cools it off some, but yeah, I like my water really hot too

You might want to get yourself tested by your doctor. You seem to have a unnatural resilience to pain. That could be a problem, for your body's protection system is to tell you when it is too hot. When you are medium rare instead of just rare, it is too late.
It could also be that the hot water tank is not set very high - should be up to 160F to kill bugs in the water.

yes. if it is all hott and no cold you will burn your skin extremly which is horrible and nasty...i suggest putting the hot on all the way and then adding some cold water until the temperature is perfect. once the water coming out of the shower/faucet thingy is ur perfect temperature than ur good to go yo

There's no such thing as your bath water being too hot. Unless it's boiling.. Different people have different preferences.

Well I usually have warm baths but not too warm...It might cause your skin to be dry and possibly damaged in the future if you do it often.

probably not very good. the redness could be mild scald and could cause skin dryness. Your skin nerves may get destroyed over time which desensitises you to the heat so you may not be alerted to the damage it may cause you.

Well if it is two hot it could scald your skin, but other wise I don't see any problem with it.
