It depends on your definition of "work". Have you ever been completely smothered in a relationship? If so, you may really feel liberated in a long distance relationship. You have a lot of power to decide when you see the person and every time you see them can be great! Trust is extremely important in long distance relationships though. You must have a conversation about what is acceptable and what is not. Is it okay to see other people? Or not so much? Good luck!

Yes, I think as long as the both of you understand that your relationship should be based on a good friendship.

I have been in a long distance relationship for 7 years now. It is working great but it takes a lot of work and understanding from both people.

Only if both people are willing to make it work. I had a long distance relationship with an ex b/f when he went 300 miles to attend college. I wanted it to work only he was just starting to experience life away from home. Sad, sad thing. He realized he was in love with me after he broke up with me during Christmas break and a couple months later I started dating someone new who I eventually married.

Like a couple other people have said, if both people are dedicated to making it work then it can, otherwise it doesn't stand a chance. Both people need to be willing to do whatever it takes to work through the distance between them. You also need to have a great deal of trust in them.

Rarely. It takes a level of responsibility and commitment most people lack. It helps if the parties knew each other before the separation.

they can work but sometimes they dont because sometimes someone in the relationship will get suspicious of that person cheating on them and that will ruin the relationship. It could work if you have been dating for a LOOONNNGG time but besides that, IT DEPENDS HOW MUCH YOU TRUST EACHOTHER!
