for the two criminals that were crucified with Jesus?

There may have been members of the thieves' families there, but that has no bearing on the message that the writers were trying to convey. The focus was on Jesus and His sacrifice for you and me. There may indeed have been more friends of Jesus there than was mentioned in the gospels. The writers did not write down every detail of the life and death of Christ, just the essential parts to tell the story of how He came to live and die for us and the plan of salvation. One of the writers, I forget which one, said that if all the things Jesus did were to be written down, that it would take many volumes to tell. I hope I have helped you. May God richly bless you.

I am pretty sure there was. From what I hear Crucifixion was not always lethal. Some times people would show up latter after the roman soldiers left un-tie the criminal and off they would go. Maybe they where just on their way. To bad they threw out the book of the two criminals that where crucified with Jesus when they re wrote the Bible.

The two criminals werent crucified. If you read further, only Jesus was crucified. The other two were just hung on the cross for punishment. Later i think they were taken down from the cross. You should maybe ask a Pastor. SORRY IF THIS IS A BAD ANSWER

There probabley was, but who would want to be associated with a criminal. They wouldn't have stood up and shouted "that's my son, or brother, or husband" would they? Maybe they were there and were so heart broken they could only cry? But the story stuck to the main character, Jesus. All eyes and focus was on Him, so anyone else was second fiddle. Jesus' mother was there though. Check the Bible. He told one of His disciples to look after His mother (forget which one). There is an awful lot missing from the Bible and stuff that has been mistranslated, so read and pray about what you read if you want to know if it is true.

They may have been ashamed. They may have been wanted as well. They may have been afraid the Romans would be watching for watchers. They may not have been local. They may not have had family or friends there.
My youngest lives in China. We know the town, but have no idea of where in that city he lives. He could be mugged at any time and we would never know. Communication was even worse then, so loved onces might have never known.

Girl, come on. They didn't have any more room in the bible for anymore stories. that thing is packed! And there were probably a lot of people at the crossification, and they couldn't take attendance. That would take a long time, and weren't the Romans looking for the people who were trying to write the bible back then? So they couldn't spend a lot of time there, could thhey?

I have no idea. I am, although, quite curious as to why you asked this question? (and I am being genuine here, not sarcastic)
I would never have thought to even question the fact that there were no family members mentioned. Is that because I am selfish? Should I be questioning my sensitivity? Very good question. I think I will take some time to reflect on it.

I've worked in prison ministry for a long time.
An awful lot of felons have already burned their bridges with their families, and the kind of friends that felons have do not attend executions.

There are many details in Bible stories that are omitted because they are not germaine to the story. This would be one of them.

There are alot of things not said in the bible....I guess there is enough there, that is mentioned.....that I could spend the rest of my life investigating. And I don't mean that in a critical way; I just think since God put in there what we need to know, I'm content to find out what He would have me know about what IS in the bible.

It wasn't relevant to the message intended by the writers.
