Leading life from the head alone or from the heart alone is trouble. It's easy for me to say this, but, I've to learn from making many mistakes, getting in/out of trouble, and learning how to align both the heart and the head. There are some 'places' you lead from the heart. Do not 'lose' your head over times where logic is required. 'Know' the 'line'. Easy for me to say. Not easy to work out.
I can't TELL you not to stop thinking nor to advise you what to do. You are likely to 'swing' from one extreme to another if you find yourself now 'sick of' doing something you've been without a break. Perhaps a 'break' is what you need. Or is it some specific skills you need to learn to lessen the effects of dealing with certain people or a specific person? You must know what you are asking before you get deluged with many responses that'll swamp you with what you don't want to do in the first place and get you all 'sick' again!
Lose control. To you, now, this might just be the next best thing to happen. Then, when you are feel a little de-stressed, ask again specifically who or what is bothering you to the point of 'breaking'.

Start doing! Compulsive thinking can be a disorder. It may be caused by stress or anxiety. Meditation doesn't sound like a good cure but it is learning to control your thinking. Meditation is relaxing and stopping your compulsive thinking and replacing it with blankness for a start. This takes will power; forcing your mind to stop thinking. When you have accomplished this you can carefully start to concentrate on more peaceful thoughts.

Try to quiet your mind and stop thinking for a while. Do something distracting. Try headphones and some distracting music.
