i know a lot of guys that ask out girls they dont even know and then some they have been friends with for awile so which one should i choose

Don't wait, just ask her out. If you're still in school, you're lucky because it's freakin easy. In HS, ask her to a dance. In college, ask her to lunch or something. If you're not in school, ask her to coffee.
Point is, keep it casual. You don't need to know someone well to go get coffee with them. The point of getting coffee is to find out a little more about them and figure out if you want to go on a real date.
I met a girl who worked at a UPS store. Saw her a few times and decided to ask her out to coffee. Turns out she was 3 years older than me and married. Nonetheless, she still went with me on her break (coffee shop was next door). We chatted a bit and that's it. No harm, no foul.
Any girl who bites your head off for asking isn't worth your time anyway. But if you come on too strong, you can ruin something you may have had a chance at.
P.S. If she agrees to go get coffee with you, you're only half way there. It isn't a real date yet. And if/when she says "okay", don't be shocked and stand there grinning like an idiot. Tell her when and where, and definitely get her number.

Don't you want to know someone a little better than a few days before you make that step? Personally I'd rather know a guy pretty well before they asked me out, so I could make a well-thought decision. If you wait a while then she knows its really for her and not just because she's good looking or you're desperate.

i am a girl and i preffer that a boy would ask me out if he knew me. the only reason i say that is because if u really dont know a girl than it will be uncofertable for u and her. most people who stay together for a long time have been friends and have liked each other for a long time! wait till u know her a long time
