If it is a scrape and is not severe, clean it well with water, maybe use some sort of cloth. Then just use some neosporin or ointment directly on the area. Depending on the cat, you probably shouldn't use anything that may burn.

Flush the wound very well with hydrogen peroxide - its cheap, painless and very effective. After you've cleaned it out, you can smear an antibacterial oinmetn like neosporin over the wound. You'll have to keep cleaning it several times during the day to prevent infection. Once that sets in (infection) then the cat will need antibiotics, which can only be obtained by vet prescription.
Thanks for helping the poor kitty.

some good advice on here but dont let ur cat suffer like this. Does any one give u birthday or holiday gifts? maybe they could pay to help ur poor kitty instead and give u an early gift, most vets have payment plans with no interest if pd by a certain date, The big message here is someone had injured or tortured ur cat , the only way to keep a cat safe is to have it neutered and keep it indoors at all times. A small animal like a house cat is no match for the dangers outside. Most areas have lo cost spay or neuter programs look on line or ask at an animal shelter. If u really cant afford to treat ur cat, please consider finding it a good home with some one who can, maybe a good friend or relative who can afford its care. Good luck ( I had to learn the hard way many years ago the only way to keep cats safe is to have it fixed and keep inside, Only bad things kept happening to my cats outside, All I did was cry and spend money on vet care or dig graves, indoors they live up to 20 years old, my oldest was 21 when she finally passed on.

Hydrogen peroxide can be used on cats. I once had a cat with an infected bite, and after emergency surgery (the infection had gone deep before the bite was discovered) I was advised by the vet to clean the wound daily with hydrogen peroxide. However, be advised, the cat isn't likely to enjoy this very much.

I would call a vet to see what they think, even if you can't afford to pay for a vet visit. Is the wound still bleeding? Does it look infected? If not, and if it is not deep, it might just heal up on it's own - but again, check with a vet first. Good Luck.

Try neosporin, but be aware that if it starts to get red and swollen an abcess might form and you will have no choice but to take it to a vet.
