anything that is ceramic. if you have a sally's where you stay go and check out thier selection. regular flat irons is kind of played out. ceramics are new and healthier for hair. but for best results dont section your hair too thick or else your hair will still be poofy and get as close to the roots as possible because that plays a real big part in how straight your hair will turn out.

Your best bet will probably be to invest in a professional salon-quality flatiron from a salon supply store. Coarse hair needs more heat to style than fine/medium textured hair does. Professional products get hotter than what is available at department stores. It might cost a bit more, but it'll be worth it because the style (and the flatiron) will last longer and you may not need to use it everyday unless you wash your hair daily. Just be careful so you won't burn your hair or scalp.

Chi makes a great iron for about $110 bucks. But for a cheaper version, they have many at walmart that are 15-25 dollars that work well on that type of hair, just make sure it's ceramic, try to look for one with a temp dial on it.
