Absolutely. A safe, peaceful and democratic state. A chance for her people to have a government that answers to them, instead of the other way around.
And that's an objective worth fighting for.

! CBoy! Do I wish that they would just be a happy little country. However there is not a chance that will ever happen.
If anyone would just read one book about that regions history. You'll find out just how many names that country has been called. If a country doesn't even know when another country will dictate what name their country will be called. How on earth will their be any nationalism . Nations that stick together whether they are Sunni, Shite or Christan .When they become a nationalize there would be no other nation that will be able to beat it. Until they learn that trick . They will keep fighting someone . They are real good at the fighting part because they have been fighting for over 5000s years.
Someday there will be some type of peace but not in my lifetime.
A nation must want a republic like our they have to want it so badly very badly. Before any one may try to help them write their constitution.
If that happens to this nation or any others we must remember to be asked for our help. Not push our way of life down their throats!.
However remember that the people have been fighting over 5000 years.
You would know that if you had read any history of the region.

A wish is just that, a wish. It takes more than a wish to make things come to reality. It takes dedication and hard decisions. Wishes are the things empty bags are made of, air. An example of this statement: I wish the Islamic religion was done away with. I wish the hatred that is taught through it was stopped. How do you think that wish would ever be given to me? It won't, so no use wishing.

Yes, I wish for Iraq to know peace and prosperity, and for their children to learn and play in safety and security. The people of Iraq have stolen my heart through the soldiers that I know and how they speak of them. They all tell me that Iraqis are an especially warm and happy people, and that it is truly heartbreaking to see them living in fear. The Soldiers are determined that they should be helped to find that safety and peace before we consider leaving.

I wish peace and stability to all states and countries. Regardless of the people who wish harm on others, there are more of the silent majority who wish only to live in peace.

Absolutely. It is a place with great history and one place in that area that actually is more than just sand. I wish for those people the same thing I wish for my own family.

Yes of course. Unfortunately, the radical followers of Islam and the hate preaching Imams won't allow it. It's the radicals against the moderates, the hard liners against the will of the people. Kind of like here with the libs against the people.
