Whenever I need some ideas on art or pictures, I go to the yahoo search and click on the images tab to search for images. Go there and type in "cross" and you'll get a lot of different cross images.

You might check some on-line book sites; google books is one, but there are a bunch of other ones. You might find some symbols from a 100 year old, out of print, book in there, with some background info about the symbol.
