Ok I am going to graduate with a 4yr college degree and want to enlist in the Navy as an officer (going through the proper requirments) and then become a Navy Seal. How would this work and what benefits would I have over a regular enlistee. What do officers in the Navy Seals do?

THANKS for serving!

Here is the deal for an enlisted mabn to be SELECTED for SEAL training he generally has to be an E-6 and a TOP NOTCH sailor.

Figure it takes a minimum of 6 years to reach E-6 so there is a HUGE amount of experience involved in their particular rate.

To answer your question SEAL officers ask a lot of questions, pay attention and PRAY that you make the right decision. Other than that you do EVERYTHING the rest of the TEAM does; there is NO room or time for a REMF in the SEALS.

Just a note, the average life span of a ground force new LT. in NAM was 17 MINUTES.

SCREW the BENEFITS, you do it out of HONOR and PRIDE and if you aren't prepared for that do your time and get OUT. There are many more "BENEFITS" on the outside.

You would "commission" in the Navy not "enlist". By being an officer you would make a about double what enlisted guys make...you can still enlist if you want, but why would you? I believe that you can be a Navy SEAL as an officer, since they need team leaders, and the military never truely trusts enlisted guys to run their own sh*t for some reason...good luck getting shot at...

it truly is 28 years of commissioned service speaking. in case you could't determined, you'll not in any respect develop right into a SEAL. those adult males are pushed. they favor to be not something else. The actual criteria are such that that's like preparation for a prize strive against purely to get in. The psychological section is even worse. I served contained in the military. i changed into not a SEAL. however, I knew many. i'm able to save in recommendations, even at the same time as they were not assigned to SEAL gadgets, those adult males swimming laps on the O-club for hours. i do not understand the way you consider growing a Naval officer, even if that's via NROTC or OCS. It couldn't likely be "The commerce college." growing an officer isn't as uncomplicated now as when I became one so previously. solid success such as your occupation decision. there is an previous military adage that is going, "continually anticipate the worst...if something else occurs be grateful."

if you have not gone through ROTC, you will have a harder time gettinga SEaL: slot as an O. Os go through BUD/s right along side the enlisted folk.. and there is like a 75% washout rate.

The only difference between Os and Es as far as bennies go.. the base pay is higher and the BAH is higher. that's it.

SEAL training is the same regardless of the rank. Officers are especially picked on in BUD/S. Anyway, GOOGLE BUD/S training. It is intense. I hope you like ice cold water for hours on end. If you are not in shape before you go, REALLY in shape, you will be VERY sorry. Good luck!

if you really want to be a SEAL, u better be in shape, officers only get one shot at BUD/S and if they don't make it, its back to the fleet for them. if you enlist however, u get as many chances as you want and requirements are higher for officers at BUD/S, so good luck with what u want to do, prepare for a kick in the balls though.
