i would go with an aeg. one it is inexpisive you don't have to buy a gas for gun you recharge the battery. two you don't have to re-co.ck it evertime you want to shoot like a springer. three holds more bbs in a magazines in a hi cap you can get about 450 bbs in mag instead of 40. companies i would reccomend is classic army, tokyo marui, and ics. the guns range from $200-$500. now if you don't feel like forking over that amount. mid range aegs compines like utg and echo1. you can get a utg mp5 it has a full metal gear box, a hi cap, a battery, and charger for $99. just stay away from plastic gear boxes. sure they are $20-$50 but they will break down on you.

the adaptation between a metal airsoft gun and a plastic airsoft gun is the textile the body is made up of. in case you're taking good care of your belongings you're basically high-quality with a plastic bodied gun. in case you intend on making use of your airsoft gun as a club then purchase a metal one.

Gas is expensive, but hard hitting
Spring is cheap, but unacurate (at times) and you have to re-cock a bunch of times
Electric is cheap, but soft hitting (usually)

All have pros and cons, but if you want a real thrill, then stay in paintball, and mabye go into hunting.
Good luck!
