Even though I'm not a curly girl, I cut several. I know the frustration it can cause, and I empathize. But chop it off?
A wig is more work than curly hair! They take quite a bit of maintenance, and can be pricey. Why not look into taming your hair before you commit to wigs? A good, quality cut can make all the difference. Curly hair, in particular, needs layering by a stylist who knows what they're doing. There are tons of styling aids out there to smooth, soften and generally soothe your curls. Before chopping off your hair, I'd see a hairdresser who knows how to handle it.
Look for someone with curly hair you like (even a stranger), and ask for their stylist's name. They'll be so flattered they'll hand it over. Then pick the stylist's brain. Find out what they'd do, and how they'd do it. It very well might let you love your hair. Or at least feel like you can live with it.
If you decide you just can't do it, and want to go with a wig, there are a few things to remember. Wigs are an investment. Real hair is worth it. Eventually, the fake will show itself. Look for a style and color that suits you. Something that will remain stylish for a while. At a couple hundred dollars apiece, you don't want to hate what you have. If this is the way for you to go, have fun! Just make sure you care for your wig the way you should. It will show.
Either way, I hope you settle your hair angst. It's a terrible feeling to hate something that's attached to you, and I wish you the best with your hair and everything else. Hope this helps!

i have your same problem! my hair is sooo curly, and it gets frizzy when ever i brush it. what i do is use a thick shampoo and conditioner, what i use is dove. dont use something like herbal essences, or suave, cause their really not good for people with curly hair. and also, after you wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner, then get the dove mouse, and while your hair is still wet, brush it, (never wait till its dry to brush) then add the mouse, and like scrunch up your hair, and add a little hairspray, your hair will stay nice all day and it will look great, it makes curls look better than they are.
or if you really want straight hair, use a straightener that goes as high as 400 degrees, because those only take like 10 minutes to do your whole head of curls, and it should be ceramic too because that heats up better
another tip for curls would be to use a silk pillow case everynight when you sleep, that helps curls so they dont get frizzy.
one more thing, every week, use a deep hair conditioner. Put it in your hair and leave it for two minutes and then rinse, it will help your curls stay non frizzy, and if you straighten it, it will make your hair shineyer, and easier to straighten, plus eliminate damage from the hair straightener.
Good Luck and i hope ya take my advice, because its whats gotten my hair to look the best it possibly can.

firstly, what kind of straightener are you using? many cheaper or older straightners do not heat up to a very high temperature, and therefore would be quite useless on your hair. as someone who is obsessed with having dead straight hair, here are the best of the best:
1.if you are willing to spend money on a good straightner, opt for a ghd ceramic straightner - it is small and easy to use, and is probably the best on the market at the moment.
2. a slightly (but not much) cheaper option would be to buy a straightner by the brand "muster". they are also pretty good, but avoid their ceramic straightner as it is a rare flop for the otherwise very good quality brand.
3. the rimmel wet to dry straightners are pretty much the same as the ghd.
if your not wanting to spend up, you could try the iron method. GET SOMEONE TO DO IT FOR YOU to avoid any nasty burns - trust me! lie a teatowel down on a heat - proof counter. lie your brushed, clean hair out on the teatowel, and have your helper iron it with a regular clothes iron.
to combat any frizz you are worried about, pick up a straighting balm from a chemist. if you are worried about frizz when your hair is curly, smooth in a little hair mouse or shaping balm (only a small amount - too much shaping balm will make your hair look oily)

DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR IF PEOPLE SAY IT'S BEAUTIFUL!! Unless you are going for something you really want, don't straighten or cut it. Try to keep your natural hair. Don't give it up! We're all self-concious about everything. I feel ugly all the time.
Well, okay, maybe you could start setting aside a little money every time you get paid and save up to get your hair straightened.

well i believe cutting your hair really short and wearing a wig is a really bad idea, its better to have your own hair instead of wearing a wig. The best idea is having it natural, i mean i'm sure its really nice the way it is, but if you really don't like it then get is straight, spend the money and time if you really hate your hair the way it is now.

ok the whole donating thing is really sweet but wearing a realistic wig pretty much contradicts the whole donating your hair thing since those are made of real hair anyway. And they are expensive too.
I would say you should get your hair relaxed or buy something to relax it yourself. itll keep it wavy and less curly so itll be manageable

keep your hair!
the thought of donating hair to the poor cancer victims is appreciated & heartwarming, but your hair is a gift!
you really shouldn't replace it with a wig!
you know what you should do?
you should shampoo your hair, then condition your hair, and dont rinse out your conditioner yet, shampoo your body, THEN rinse out your conditioner. the longer the conditioner stays on your hair, the softer your hair will get. Then, use a leave-in treatment on your damp hair after you get out of the shower.
when you applied the treatment, loosen your hair and let it rest on a towel.
do not rinse out the treatment until your next shower.
or you can use vinegar as a condtioner. makes hair sleeker & shiner =)
but anyway, don't brush your hair TOO often, too roughly because it damages your hair greatly.
and don't try to touch your hair SO much, because it makes your hair go dry.
good luck!<3

Maybe (probably) you are exaggerating. Your hair may look ugly to you 'cause you aren't wearing it in a comfortable way for you. So just try to find a nice way to wear it. And don't even think about straighten it forever, 'cause later you may want your curly hair back

God I would kill to have curly hair. If you get a really good straightener, then it wont take that long. I have a pretty good one that I got at Target and it wasnt that expensive, be sure that the straightner is ceramic. also try some straightening serum. They tend to work pretty well.
good luck!
