a friend from when i was 16 just died. We reconnected through classmates.com and emailed and IM'ed...then by chance I saw him 4 months ago. Should I send his wife this poem? I talk to her all the time on IM and there was nothing going on between us.

On the super highway we met again.
After years of being estranged we shared once again.
Old memories of forgotten past,
Fragments of tales,
All came rushing from the far most part of the memory.
Now we lay him to rest but not the memories of his life.
His hands so strong they could hold your heart forever,
His arms of steel that held us so tight,
His legs so long to walk that extra mile,
His smile and eyes would light up a room,
And the laugh that only he had.
All these things will live in my heart as he is laid to rest in the arms of God.
The sign we do not see that are right in front of us
We see only in hindsight

To start out...that's a great poem in my opinion. I had a friend that shot herself in front of me and her father. I relive that day over and over again. It doesn't help to try to forget it just hurts worse because you have to think of what your trying to forget. The best way to make the pain of a loved one hurt less and less it to remember the good and hold on to something that will remind you. Sure it hurts at first, hell it hurts for a long time but every day or so that you remember the good and the longer to let their life live on in your memories, the better it gets. No one has all the answers or the right ones. But I know from personal experience that it might help to send her that poem, sure it may hurt her a little at first but after a while she'll over look the pain and she'll see what you were trying to do for her.
