When I'm at church with family, I tear up when songs are being sung for some reason.. Is that the HOLY SPIRIT tryin' to reach out to me?

Yeah, me too. He means so much to us, He is in our hearts. It is emotional to hear His praises and connect that with what He has done for us. Nothing wrong with that....you're lucky, and so am I, that we know these things and can feel these things.

It is called "The Gift of Tears". Yes it is the Holy Spirit. We can only weep with the awareness of the beauty and love in his selfless act. The Mercy shown to us is so great we are only made silent but, our gratitude needs to be shown much like the rocks would have cried out that he is King (when he entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday) and so we can only cry our tears of love and joy and thankfulness. Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever , Amen.

Yes, it could very well be the Holy Spirit reaching out to touch your soul. Embrace your emotions and leave your heart open.

The Holy Spirit speaks directly to the heart.
And sometimes he uses music.
The Holy Spirit never stops trying to reach out to us, but if we ignore him our hearts can get so hard that we no longer hear Him.

Great. It must be God getting to you!

Just be sure to try to get closer with God! If you don't have a devotional time, begin to have one (early in the morning, maybe?) to pray and read the Bible.
When God is reaching us, we have to take advantage of it, other wise it may become less and less. On the other hand, if you get even closer to God, you will find that His Presence is the best place to be!
God bless!

it is God moving inside of you. or the Holy Ghost. just like when you pray sometimes and get into it you might cry. and if you continue you might feel your mouth get nummed and words to start comming out of your mouth you dont understand. that would be the Holy Ghost controling you. and you submitting yourself. however most of us dont like our flesh being controlled and stop it. but it is an awesome feeling. anyways that is the Holy Ghost moving upon your heart and when that happens we do tend to cry and what not.

I do that too sometimes, or I feel a shiver/chill. I believe it is the Holy Spirit too!!

I am really glad that you asked this question. This often happens to me when I am driving in my car and listening to KLOVE. It always takes me by surprise. I would have never thought to ask this question. Thanks again!

it is just that. the holy spirit works within you if you are willing to surrender your heart to God. your not being overemotional. it's a totally normal and beautiful thing when the spirit of God touches your heart. that is why you cry.

Oh my, maybe it is because you are weak minded or a drama queen.
The Holy Spirit tried to reach out to me once and now there is a restraining order against the Holy Spirit.
Honestly, have you sought professional help? That is not normal and is actually scary that you have that reaction.

This is your response to God's loving spirit. Bless you and I hope you feel like this often!

yes it is, it is the very depths of you having a connection with God. It is very natural. It happens to me, and I just let the tears fall. Sometimes I feel the love, but sometimes I feel the sadness the Holy Spirit has for others.

Thank God for the closeness you share with Him during this time. It's something very unique and special! ( I am glad I am not the only one!)

God Bless!
