I feel it violates the sanctity of the confession... but only because my sin involves my dog. Dogs sense things, you know?

However, I believe confessing my sin to a man, instead of God, would violate the sanctity of the confession.

So let me get this straight. Without the dog there, you would feel better about yourself after doing something horrible to your dog and then telling your pastor...
I would appologize to the dog and try to make it right rather than confess it to the preacher and think it's all better.

kinda curious as to what sin involves your dog, but if i guess if it makes you uncomfortable ask the priest to leave him outside the door and probably far away from you
