also give me one reason why i should believe in Noah lol ...if he had all the animals on an ark and that ark made landfall in the Mideast, how did all the marsupials get to Australia?

most of whom were writing many hundreds of years (and some, thousands of years) after the events they claim to describe.

Some writers consider the different source materials to be in conflict. See The Bible and history for further information. This is a controversial subject, with implications in the fields of religion, politics and diplomacy.

this was taken from a link that christian sent me as there evidence lol

Just so you know I wasn’t asking about Jesus, I was asking about the historical accuracy of the "god inspired" bible

Pangaea or Pangea (derived from Παγγαία, Greek meaning 'all earth') is the name given to the supercontinent that existed during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras about 250 million years ago

So you are telling me that Noah's flood happened 250 million years ago?
i dont think so...acording to the bible the earth is only about 6000 years old ??????

Most of all my friend, I personally know my LORD. Regardless of what goes on in my life, I know the end result, I have read the last chapter.

I have personally seen dozens of hurting people place their trust in the LORD and immediately tell me of the peace that suddenly overflows every part of their being. Many have been within moments of taking their own life and you may have seen several report that right here in Y/A

The major problem with this is like trying to tell someone that was blind all of their life what a sunset looks like. How can we do it justice? How about telling a deaf person what a song sounds like...or what it is like to hear your child say...I love you?

Jesus is something we have to find out about personally...and you can do it with the information in the site below.

Well, I don't subscribe to any Religion and I don't know anything about the slave Jews in Egypt BUT there has been evidence of a HUGE flood in the Fertile Crescent region that would suggest that the KNOWN World at the time would have been under water for an extended period. Remember that, before people were educated, very few people could read and write. So these stories were passed down verbally and prone to exaggeration. Ever play that game telephone? Hence, much of organized religion in my opinion, is exaggerated pieces of truth.

Oh sister, where to start: by definition belief does not have evidence. Evidence is required for proofs and you don't prove faith or God.
If you seek historical evidence, go to the Berlin Museum of Antiquities and see the glazed tile the Exiled Jews marched by in Ninevah. Or read the copied, not written by Genesis, account of Gen. 15. Or study the Creation and Noahic stories as they were assimilated from the much earlier Gilgamesh Epic in Ugaritic. They are from the town of Ur where Abraham grew up. If stories older than the Bible from a different culture/place have the story...then I sounds pretty authentic.
If you want marsupials and I love the platy - go to science and the theories of continental drift.

I believe the Ark story was a nice device to explain some things that were unknown, past down from generation to generation verbally for
hundreds of years, there was no harm in it,it was helpful to a people who had no way of knowing any better.
But that ended about 200 years ago . Understanding its a story citing Gods wisdom and love do's not make it a bad thing.

You know, believing in the Jews being in Egypt or believing the story of Noah are not essential to being saved. The really big question is did God send his Son Jesus to die to pay the sin debt of all who would believe on Him?

There is a ton of evidence that Jesus was a real person who really performed miracles and who really rose from the dead and was seen by many eye witnesses. When you die and stand before God on judgment day He isn't going to ask you what you did about Noah. He's going ask you if you trusted in the gracious gift of his beloved Son Jesus as payment for your sin debt.

If you want to examine some of the evidence for Jesus click on the Answers button @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ and while you are at it you can see some evidence for other areas that you don't think have any basis in fact.

my evidence dwells in me, your evidence is found at the cross, the third day he arose again from the dead.

Science also proves Christianity. And the endtimes is also prophecied in the bible, which is coming into play right before are very eyes.

You should believe the Story of Noah because its the word of the living God. Animals can travel to, and whose to say that men didn't take them over there. Since all the people groups of the world split up at Bablyon. Besides the world might have been one continent at that time anyhow. Russia to Alaska through the Bering Strait. The fact that the bible says that the animals came to Noah, is a good sign that they could go back to where they came from.

That's funny cause evolutionist have the same prblm with Madagascar.

i really like your question. and for those who think science is proving the bible, yeah, they are proving it WRONG.

you must remember the account of history, which is what the bible is, all depends on who is holding the pen.
in the case of the bible, the catholic church decided what went into the bible. many things were taken out, so you know they were not above adding things in there.

you make very good points. none of it can be proved.

but i suppose proving something true isnt the whole point of having faith in something. but i do think it is funny they are proving things false. thats the problem with having a book that tells people everything about how they are suppose to live life, if you can prove one thing wrong, how can all of it be right.

have a nice day. thanks for the entertaining question :)

There is archaeological evidence that the Jews were slave in Egypt.
On the other hand, there are a lot of evidence for the faith. You should first take them into account, before just looking at the few difficulties.

Alrighty then. But wait,,, ,, marsupials exist on all continents. I just saw one dead on the side of the road and its called an opossum.
And sorry but ask any Eygyptoligist and they will tell you that jews were slaves used to build the great pyramids.
Pangia was the great continent that split apart after the flood.
You really need to do some study!

Melanie, this is a question that is asked often and answered often. I will answer it the same way I always do: there is absolutely no "evidence" I could offer you that would convince you to believe that the bible is what it claims to be: given by inspiration of God, and that you can trust His word as true.

There is, however, one who can show you this, and that is God Himself. "Come to me", He says, "and I will show you great and mighty things that you know not". If you ever decide that you do want Him to show you these things, do as He says; go to Him. He will in no wise cast you out.
