Ugly Sticks for walleye but I use Diawa for salmon
G Loomis rods are way overpriced. I've caught more fish using a Zebco 202 combo than with any G Loomis. I have one and I'm thinking about selling it.

Depends on what you want to fish for. However, as a brand, Shakespeare is really good for its price. I personally have Shakespeare, Daiwa, Shimano rods. They are all pretty good. Let me know what fish you are targeting so I can help you with the details. :-)

the best fishin rod that i have come across is an all-star. it is only about 70 bucks and if they break you have a lifetime warranty on them. another good rod if you are from texas is called american rodsmith, they run about the same price and have the same lifetime warranty.

UGLY STICKS!!!!!!! They are absolutely the best rods for their price. Just get him a medium heavy action one . They are around $30. If you find them on sale they are 15 or 20. They are great rods, sensitive, strong, and cheap.

shakespeare, they're inexpensive so you're not out alot when you break/lose one, and they're pretty sturdy.
