I would ask a vet or someone that has knowledge of this topic. Keep in mind that being overweight can perhaps cause other health challenges and your cats mobility could be compromised. Maybe putting the cat on a diet or not free feeding the cat is a good idea just so that the weight can get under control. A vet would be able to tell you a healthy weight for your cat.

The weight of a cat depends a lot on the breed and bone structure of the animal. I had a cat that weighed 22 pounds but Brutus was in no way overweight. He was just a big cat. Now I have a Siamese female that weighs 19 pounds and she's a chub bucket, almost as wide as she is long. She was abused for the first three years and after I took her, she found both happiness and food. Fancy has spent the last five years at the food dish.

Sometimes larger boned cats can weigh up to 19 pounds and not be over wieght. But if it is a regular sized cat, then yes it is WAY over weight. We have a cat at the clinic where i work named Buddah. He is a food monger, and used to break into the food room and chew through bags of food to get to it. He once weighed 26 Pounds! He is now down to 19, but he is still an obese cat. he is still on a diet, and we try to excercise him. You should find out how many calorites he needs during the day, and also exercise him.

Most likely way overweight. Some cats can be normal at 30 lbs, but few are.
The way you can tell is the rib check- can you still feel his/her ribs? By that I mean you should be able to easily feel between each rib. If you feel nothing at all- way way too fat and you are going to be looking at a diabetic cat in a couple years. If you can feel obvious bumps/grooves without pressing too hard, then it is close to a perfect weight.

Sometimes it depends on its breed. A Maine Coon can grow up to 25 lbs and just be all muscle.
And sometimes, some mixed breed cats just happen to be big and muscled. Now, if its stomach is hanging out and you can't really feel the cat's spine when you pet it.. then it is overweight.

It depends what how old the cat is. Some will say they are overweight. I have a 26 pounder and is perfectly healthy. If you see or the cat has no issues then I would say it is normal. They are cute though ;)

That matters what breed it is. A think you should have your cat at about 15 lbs. though. 19 seems a bit over.

It just depends on the size of the cat. You can have a smaller built cat but has a stomach that drags the ground, then its overweight. But like my cat, hes just a big cat. He doesn't have a big stomach but hes 15lbs-the vet said he was fine at this weight.

TOO overweight this can cause a variety of health problems including Diabetes so unless you want to have to give kitty a shot every day I'd put him on a strict diet and give him some exercise.
