Does anyone know of a reputable online resource where I can find out about whether or not certain drugs interact with each other to cause changes in mental status? The drugs are for various conditions (HIV meds, pain meds, a bunch of other stuff) It's for my friend, and he's on a LOT of different meds, so a site that's highly interactive would be appreciated. THANK YOU to all.....

There is a very useful drug interaction tool at www.drugstore.com. You click on the pharmacy tab and then toward the bottom of the page there is a link for the "drug checker". It allows you to put in all meds you take, including over the counter med and vitamins and then will tell you about any potential interactions. It is very helpful.

Call your this number if you are in the usa 1-800-222-1222 it is the national poison control/drug info center number and will direct you to your local number. You friend can also contact his or her pharmacist and they should be able to provide that info. The drug info center might be a better bet. You can give them all of the medications and they can run them.
