There is an excellent and free substitute for Photoshop. It's called "Paint.net" and is available for reading about and downloading at the below link.

well, it's photoshop because the name "photoshop" is a licensed product, as in "Adobe Photoshop".
If you want to download it, good luck because it is an enormous file!
