I just got braces a few days ago and I was just wondering what the chances are that the things like cemented on to my teeth will fall off. Everytime I brush I worry that they are going to come off or come lose. Also, if I brush my teeth really well and do everything my orthadontist told me do, how much time could I take off of my treatment time?

The lady that put my braces on told me that if I take good care of my teeth I could probably not have to have the braces on as long but she didn't tell me how much time. I guess I'm just asking if you had braces, did you get your braces off at the time they predicted or did you get them off after and if you got them off before, how much time before?

Your braces will not fall off just from brushing your teeth. You would need to do harm to them. Eating something hard or sticky can make them loose or fall off eventually.

Only time will tell for the length of your braces. It is matter of your teeth moving into position and not the cleanness of your teeth.

I had mine on for about two years. Every one is different, depending how crooked your teeth are to begin with. (They told me about 2 yrs too.)

I had braces over 15 years ago. I was happy to get them and happy now that I chose to get them.

Don't worry, the things cemented off don't fall off by brushing your teeth. But don't take food that is too sticky or requires serious munching like apples though. Even if these metal things come loose, the orthodontist will help you fix them on again during your regular check-ups, so don't worry. (Btw, it's quite important to continue brushing your teeth regularly, because if not, at the end when your braces are fully taken off, there may be little squares that are of a different colouration)

Treatment time depends on the original condition of your teeth- the more out of line they were initially, the longer it takes. Typically though, it takes around 2 years and a couple of months. Hope that answered your question :)

Its not likely at all that they'll fall off if you follow the instructions given by your orthodontist. I think you would really have to be eating hard candy all the time to make them break off. I got my braces off 3 months early and I think its because I really took good care of my teeth, I used a water pik after I ate anything and I never had any cavities, so I think that probably made a difference in how long I wore them. I hope this helps.

They are pretty sturdy, believe me. I had mine for a little over two years and only had troubles once. Take care of your teeth regularly as you already are doing and avoid overly sticky foods. And jawbreakers, of course. One of those could pop a bracket off for sure, but regular use won't. They are made to be very sturdy. If there is trouble, you can just schedule an appointment to get it back on... bring the bracket with you. Most orthodontists have special hours for repairs. The treatment is usually just a little longer than the prediction you were given when you got your braces on.

no it would not damage to get braces on or off...they don't desire to numb you or something all they do is come upon this particular ortho glue stuff and placed your braces on. they provides you a retainer once you get them off and it truly is nice to placed on it because it carry your the teeth in position so that they don't flow and then you should finally end up with braces again. That happend to me and that i had to rounds of braces and that each and each one further as a lot as about 5 or 6 years of braces and it sucked. For the quantity aspect i imagine like 3 is pee and poop jointly and four is like throw up, 5 diarea, idn desire i helped : )

i was supposed to have mine for 2.5 years, but i did what i was told and ended up getting them off in 1.5 years! I even had surgery, and trust me, nothings taking the brackets off! The only thing that might? is chewing on stuff, like spoons (my bf did that about 8 times, you'd think he'd learn!) but even getting our braces stuck together (long story, luckily it was like 3 years ago) didn't take anything off! also, get a mouth wash called Flos-fleur. it helps with plaque stuck to the cement behind brackets that is impossible to get off (it doesnt really come off until the braces come off and you go to the dentist!)

Brushing and following the directions of your orthodontist is fine, they wont fall off. And the time you will have them on just depends on how crooked or gaped your teeth are and how quickly they move.

the cement they use is very strong and if they were to fall which i doubt very much they can cement it back up the length keeping you braces on depends on how bad your teeth are
