A good, healthy diet.
On the whole, fruits, vegetables, etc are cheaper than unhealthy foods.

Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Stay away from take out food, which tends to be high in fat and starches. Take a power walk every day, one where you work up a sweat for 20 minutes. Take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator. Watch what you are drinking. There is a lot of sugar in most sodas and fruit drinks. The best drink is water. If you are serious about losing weight you will find the time to exercise. Power walking is free. Do it with a buddy who will motivate you to continue.

I lost 40 pounds in three months by eating the following meal (as an ONLY meal) every day:
1) cooked green beans
2) a baked sweet potato
3) grilled chicken (seasoned with freshly-squeezed lemon juice,
salt and pepper)
Remember to drink water several times a day and take a multi-vitamin for good measure!

Make time for exercise, or you won't actually be healthy.
And eat healthy food.
There is always time for exercise-go early or just try to walk more. It doesn't have to be a big production, just take the stairs, park further away in parking lots, do crunches when you wake up.
