I took my kitten, Savannah, to the vet yesterday and was told to pick her up today. When I got there I was told that she has had a reaction and the vet really was not too familiar with it. She woke up from the surgery. However, she is really disoriented. He let me see her. When I pet her, she purred, but she could not hold her head up. It almost looked like she was drunk or dizzy. The vet did say that she was eating. He is going to keep her at the vet until Monday now so that he can monitor her. He said he thinks she will either sleep this off, and if not, that she will outgrow this. Has anyone had this happen to their kitty? I am soooooo worried about my baby!!!!

anytime anesthesia is used, there is a risk....let's hope she sleeps it off and is fine over the weekend. I would have them call you on Sunday just to check on her. If she was eating, that's a good sign. good luck

Savannah will recover... she may have a slow metabolism and did not metabolize the anesthesia quick enough. But the vet is right to keep her in clinic and monitor cats vitals. Hope she is in fluid drip?

I think that if she was eating and purring that it's a good sign. Like humans every cat has a different reaction to anesthetic and there is always a risk. I hope she's fine and back to normal ASAP. GOOD-LUCK!!!
