Every religion/belief has it's share of fundie-like nuts, atheism isn't an exception.

Using basic math and logic, the more followers the religion/belief has, the bigger the amount of fundie-like nuts there are following it.

"Atheist fundie" is somewhat of a contradiction though...

"Atheist fundies" is a contradiction in terms. Atheism is not a religion, and there is nothing to "convert" anyone to. I have noticed that religious fanatics like to accuse atheists of using the same tactics that they do, a psychological phenomenon known as projection.

Unfortuenately most religions are like that trying to say there religeon is the best. as far as im concerned everybody has a right to there own beleifs. Unfortunanately till society can learn this well it's gonna be like this for the years to come.

Takes just as much "faith" not to believe than it does to believe.

Could it be they know the truth, but still deny it? I'm a Christian. In my personality, I'm very stubborn. Maybe they don't want to budge, even though they know there is something else. They just don't like being wrong. No one likes being wrong. If they get you to side with them, they feel a sense of affirmation. That they are somehow right.

you're incorrect. Hitler grow to be a Roman Catholic. notwithstanding the religious debate has no longer some thing to do with Hitler immediately. we are no longer intolerant in route of religious recommendations and religions. we are notwithstanding rude to those that are rude to us. I truly won't be able to stand fake over-generalizations.

Yes i see this on here a lot, it's silly and hypocritical. It's sad really. I don't care what peoples' religions are. There are some out there that are absolutely ridiculous, but if it works for their lifestyles, so be it.

In some cases, perhaps.

Although, I find on average, fundamentalist Christians are more hellbent on conversion than atheists typically are.

i dont think an atheist try to convert you, an atheist doesnt believe in the existence of a god so the only thing an atheist will do is give you reasons why he/she doesnt believe in god´s existance...if you take that as trying to convert you, it is your problem

Yes, it can seem that way, but an atheist won't suicide bomb you because you disagree with him.
