yes--seems that they used to be open at all times. You would think that at least one person could volunteer to be there to offer spiritual guidance at all times. Maybe the good members should take that upon themselves and see that it is done.

There are some out-reach ministries in the bigger cities that do have 24-hour chapels. These are usually the really large diocese in places like Boston that have enough people to keep someone tending the pulpit around the clock.
It's an interesting question. I wonder if places like Las Vegas have real churches with 24-hour facilities.
I think mainly the idea is that if you need help, you simply call up someone from your church group. The congregation itself is actually your around-the-clock support function.
It would be really expensive the churches in the smaller communities to be open all the time.
No matter what the preacher tells you, money has the final say in all affairs of God and Men. Sad, but true.

Most churches are open 24/7. Yes, many of them have the door locked though. Its sad in a time when even a place of worship and fellowship has to lock the doors agains theives and robbers, but all you would need to do is contact someone, an elder of the church and anytime, you can worship or pray.

It depends on the Church. Some believe that you can only talk to God through someone else. They should offer 24 hour assistance.

There was a Church I used to drive past every day, called "Open Door Baptist Church". Out of curiosity, one day I stopped, and tried the door. It was locked.
I'm not Christian anymore.

No, they should not. Why? In this day, our doors have to be locked because thieves come in a steal our sound equipment and all kinds of things. If you need help you can call the Church and the pastor will contact you.

Agreed. Sadly the reason we need them to be is also the very reason they are not. Crime and vandalism and the shear lack of faith among others have condemned Churches to Bankers hours and weekends only. We cut off our noses in spite of our faces.

It would be nice to spend lone time with God at night, when most are asleep, God does want one on one time.
Churches at one time were open all night, but due to our reckless times, it would cost to much to keep the doors open.
