I had an old hound dog that always seem to smell bad. Bath or no bath, she just smelled bad. Went to the pet store and came out with a big bottle of "Skunk Spray"......no smell, just neutralizes odor.
Hey......worked for me anyway. Good luck!

You have a few choices 1) force them into the bathtub but this may cause them to have a phobia of bathing in general not just the inside bathtub 2) take them to a groomer and have them done by someone equipped to do it but this could cost a fair bit of cash 3) get a dog deodorizer from your local pet store just sprinkle it on and brush to distribute trough their coats this might take a few times to be really effective. Hope this helps :)

my dogs refuse to get in the bath but what i do is take 1 at a time and lock the bathroom door and put them into the bathtub and shut the curtain to where they can barely c out then turn the water on. u can also give them raw eggs and it will get their coat shiny. a vet told me that so im not makin it up

I use Colgate's Men's shaving foam (the cheapest, old fashioned kind) and rub the foam into their coats, and wipe them dry with towels. They smell great, it repels fleas, and they don't get too cold.
there is also an Ionic brush, available online or on eBay, that will get them clean, and neutralize odors.

They make dog perfume, it comes in a spray can and has a very nice light scent. Call a dog grooming shop and you may be able to purchase it there it is not expensive. You may also want to try brushing there teeth.

I use a spray bottle filled with UN-diluted Apple Cider Vinegar w/mother from the health food store, [not the grocery store kind} and i spray my great dane down until she is sopping wet and it cleans and deoderizes her and makes her fur SOOOOOOOOOOO silky and soft too. she does however smell like a salad for awhile.

they make dry bathing stuff available at pet stores, but I would make them get in the tub, and get one of those hand held sparayers to make it easier. I do my huge mutt this way. 2 people is best...one to hold and one to scrub.
