Hi!
I'm a great babysitter, but I just don't know how to get babysitting jobs! Can someone please help me out?

Post ads on craigslist.org, hand out flyers, ask your current clients to talk to their friends, and remember - word of mouth is EVERYTHING. I'm sure that the fact you do an excellent job will, in turn, get you more jobs! :o)

Enjoy the children!

Well, the trick here is to show everyone just what a good babysitter you really are.

What you want to do here is... visit neighborhood elementary schools and pick out a few kids to take home once they're out for the day. Babysit the little creatures, thereby demonstrating prospective parents your aptitude for the job.

Make sure to take them for several days to really get the word out that you're a great babysitter.

Depending on how old you are: print up flyers and take them around the neighborhood you live in. Put one up on a board at your local library or a store.

Probably the best, and safest way, is to try to watch the children of people you already know.

Several years ago, my now 15 1/2 yr. old daughter and I did the flyer thing. Nobody ever responded. I was somewhat relieved, 'tho, because it occurred to me that it's probably not the safest thing to just babysit for strangers. I mean, how do I know that she'd be in a safe situation when I don't even know the people?

Today, you just can't be too careful. So keep in mind that putting yourself out there to watch strangers' children is not the best thing to do!

Let some family friends who have kids know that you are availible to babysit, hang up fliers, tell your family friends to pass the word to anyone who is looking for a babysitter. It is better if you have your license, or live close to the people. Good luck

Ask the people who you have babysat for to give you references. Ask them to talk about you whenever anyone ask.

Talk to all of your friends and family and let them know that you are looking. Letting some random person watch your kids is not what people do these day.

You may want to consider taking some classes, like CPR, or childcare classes. Get fingerprinted and have a background check done so that you can give it to potential employers.

Good Luck

You could search for babysitting jobs and post your resume online on some of the major job websites like Hotjobs,Monster, Careerbuilder and Craigslist. You could also search for jobs on websites like Simply Hired and Indeed. More information available at http://www.pcworkathome.net/jobwebsites.html

i used to print up flyers and drop them off during the day...and if I knew that families with younger children lived in a certain home, i dropped the flyer off in person and introduced myself so they didn't feel that they would be calling a stranger to sit for their kids....also after i babysat for a few families, they refer ed me to other families to babysit! good luck!

Print up flyers and take them to your neighbors. That way you might get to talk to them and get jobs on the spot.

you could try making flyers and posting them at grocery stores, convenient stores, church bulletins, etc. with your name and phone number and see if you get any calls for interviews. you could also apply at a child care place?
