drink alot of water. Your dehydrating from the indoor heating. Keep using the chapstick and carmex. That helps.

Cracked lips, also known as chopped lips, is a condition of dried out and cracking Lips.
Lips are more sensitive to chapping than the skin because, unlike the skin, the lips do not produce oils to protect them against drying. That is why when the weather is dry, cold or windy the lips get cracked.
Natural Treatments:
Smear olive oil on lips (do not put Vaseline on lips it will make them more dry).
Indian med: Rub melted unsalted butter on the cracked lips.
Apply some table salt on your lips, peel, wipe and apply some olive oil on the lips.
Apply some Aloe Vera gel on the cracked lips.
Smear honey on the lips.
Mix 1 tablespoon of Vaseline to the same amount of butter; then put 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of sugar and apply on the cracked lips.
Apply some fresh orange juice drops on the afflicted area of the lips (might sting).
Apply some cocoa butter on the cracked lips
Smear some Vitimin E oil caplets on the chapped lip
Slice a cucumber and rub the chapped lips with a slice.
Dip a wet toothbrush in baking soda and gently scrub the cracked lips.
Apply some hand/body lotion on the chapped lips.
Good Luck!!!

Though I am no longer a teen (or pre-teen) I STILL use Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers. I even recommended them to my husband. BBLS have alot more "juice" than either Chapstick, Blistex or Carmex. I always had a Bonnie Bell Lip Gloss in my pocket when I lived up north (I live in Florida now). They're available at most drug stores and retail stores such as Wal-Mart.

Do you have a humidifier or vaporizer in your bedroom? If not, you may want to invest in one. I keep it on my nightstand during the winter months. It helps keep my skin from drying out and also works well for my sinuses.
You could also rub a little 'Eucerin' cream or Vaseline on your lips when you go to bed and let it soak in while you sleep.
P.S. Did you know that your lips can get addicted to chap stick? The more you use, the less hydration your body produces!

I highly recommend Kiehls. It stays on for a long time and really helps. Also, up your intake of water and avoid getting your lips wet (by licking them or getting a drink all over them) because it can make them drier.

Maybe you are not drinking enough water, skin dryness and chapping will occur if the body has an inadequate supply of water. Dehydration can also occur.
