Hi Ashley. Have you seen your family Chiropractor about this condition? It is always best to find and treat the CAUSE of a condition. Osgood-Schlatter Disease can be perpetuated by biomechanical problems in your back and/or pelvis. A good Chiropractor can help you evaluate and treat this situation.

Best wishes and good luck.

Treatment varies depending upon the severity of the pain and the activity level of the adolescent. If the pain is severe, it is recommended to stop all running and jumping activities for a while. Knee pads, ice packs and anti-inflammatory medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, will help ease any discomfort. For more persistent symptoms, a padded, elastic knee brace may be used although this treatment usually does not reduce the time required for recovery. In rare cases the disorder lasts until the tibial tuberosity finally fuses to the tibia at about age 18.

I also suffer from the disease and while there is absolutely no way to get "rid" of it there are some things you can do to make the pain more endurable...first off..the better shape you are in(not overweight) is the most important aspect of lessening the pain and swelling....second...ibuprofen can help with some pain and also any extra swelling...as far as mine went once i hit puberty the symptoms pretty much vanished although you can visually tell i have it my knees give me virtually no problem...good luck...and rest as much as possible

It`s inflammation of tbial tuberosities . There is no specific treatment. Knee needs lot of rest. Sitting in a chair is the posture that gives maximum rest to knee. Pain is maximum relieved if Aspirin is taken with an alkaline drug like Antacid.
