Been at it for 17 years, smoking that is. I quit once for 2 years in the middle there, tried to quit 3-4 times since then. Yesterday I had enough, bought some patches and slapped one on this morning. I use the patch as it always has gotten me through the unbearable first few days. Doing ok tonight, but I'm worried about coming off the 1st stage and going to that 2nd stage. Last time, that's when I started back up again. Who has had success with the patch and what worked for you?

I tried the patch and it was unsuccessful for me. I just tried that new prescription drug called Chantix, that worked better than ANY thing that I have ever tried! Quitting is really mind over matter and you have to want to be a non smoker more than you want to be a smoker. You can do it! I know that you can if that is what you really want, have faith in yourself and your ability to get rid of things that will effect your life in a negative way! Be strong and dont ever quit quitting, your worth it!

Patch worked for me to quit for 5 months but then I had a lapse of judgment and started smoking agian. I regret that I did.

Hang in there. I you could quit for 2 years, you can quit again. Just don't start smoking again like you (and I) did before.

If I quit again, I will surely use that Patch.

Nah, didn't bother with the patches, too hard to light! I'm on the gum now. Seems to be working and they have great flavours. We'll see how it works tonight as I'm going out. That's always the hardest. Good luck!

I don't smoke but I can understand your concern. I had a grandfather that smoked as long as I knew him. He quit one day just cold turkey. I can only guess how hard it must be to quit. I found this information about how to quit that you may want to read.
