Sometimes I feed my puppy fruit, and I was wondering if that was o.k if I gave him food sometimes, what is some good human food to feed a dog?

You generally want to avoid human food, because it will train your dog to beg and also will teach him that he doesn't have to eat his own "real" dog food.

If you insist, though, you want to keep it to bland things, like boiled chicken (no skin) and white rice. Never give anything with spices. Never give things with processed meats (like hot dogs). Fruit is probably a bad idea, because of its acidic qualities.

Also, two common "human" things that are poisonous to dogs are baker's chocolate and Tylenol. Especially the Tylenol.

I have heard that only 3 ounces of bakers chocolate can kill a twenty pound dog, so be EXTREMELY careful around that. I think it is okay to give ur dogs some fruits and stuff every once in a while. if it is an inside dog, i heard that u r supposed 2 get a little bowl of grass 4 ur dog to eat when it feels like it cuz it has some nutrients and stuff like that, that it needs.hope this helps a little.(i know this stuff because i am planning on being a vet when I am older :)

particular, dogs can fall ill from ingesting too plenty chocolate. And, i assume in severe situations loss of life is likewise obtainable. yet, and that's a huge yet, it takes an excellent sort of real chocolate to do the two of those issues. Milk chocolate does not contain an excellent sort of real chocolate, and chocolate cake includes little or no. there are probable 3 or 4 questions with regard to right here each and on a daily basis the place a dogs proprietor is apprehensive because of the fact their dogs ate some chocolate. And, maximum human beings of solutions would be to bring about vomiting or get the dogs to an emergency vet, which in my view is loopy. I normally tell human beings to relax, and that maximum probable no longer something will ensue. yet then i'm no longer a concern wart like maximum human beings of answerers.

Spike is absolutely correct.
Human food of any kind over along period of time can harm a dog's health.
Feeding them table scraps is NOT a good habit to get into.
Dogs can get pancreatitis which will eventually kill them.
Human food causes dogs to gain way too much weight and this puts strain on their hearts, pancreas and joints.
Stick with a good dry dog food and doggie treats if you want your puppy to live a good healthy and productive life.

No grapes, no chocolate, no onions. No green skinned potatoes.

Good human food, a little banana, broccoli, carrots as treats, the baby carrots. Use organic where possible.Low fat, or fat free plain yogurt is terrific for dogs digestion and they love it. the milk in it is processed differently so it is just fine for dogs. My three get yogurt in both their meals each day. Ground cooked turkey and rice. Just remember not to overdo. Just take a look at the size difference between you and your dog and realize they don't need a lot of food. You don't want a fat pet. Too many health problems lead to an unhappy dog and heartbroken pet owner.

chocolate, onions, toxic liquid;like house hold cleaners, cassava root; or in spanish "yuka"
rhubarb,Apricot Pits,Peach Pits,Pear Seeds ,Avocado Leaves,Eggplant leaves.

I hope I don't have to tell you this, but:
Aluminum Foil can cut a dog's intestines, causing internal bleeding.
Plastic food wrap can cause choking or intestinal obstruction.

Tobacco, Marijuana, and Aspirin are also bad for your dog.

Alcohol isn't poisonous, but dogs will get drunk much more quickly than a human.

Caffeine: I haven't had much luck trying to find out how poisonous caffeine is to dogs, but I wouldn't advise giving them tea, coffee, jolt, etc.

Rich, fatty foods can cause pancreatitis.

Dogs are lactose intolerant. Dairy products can cause excessive gas and diarrhea.

Rawhides, cow hooves, and pigs' ears are hard to digest, and may cause vomiting or diarrhea if eaten too quickly. Cow hooves are hard enough that they can break a dog's tooth, and sharp splinters can become lodged in the intestinal tract.

Finally, watch out for Bloat (gastric dilatation and volvulus syndrome or GDV), a condition that comes from eating too much too fast, especially in times of stress or just after exercise. Changes in diet and gas producing foods may also contribute to this condition. Most often occurring in large dogs, the symptoms are; a distended abdomen, abdominal discomfort, severe weakness and shock. This condition can be life threatening, and needs to be treated by a veterinarian as quickly as possible.

Razor blades, marbles, steel wool pads, cans of spray paint, laundry detergent, there are a few more but I can't think of them right now. (seriously it is not good to feed a dog human food because they will gravitate towards it and not want dog food.....in addition, human food does not clean their teeth the way dog food does. Bones are very good for dogs and their teeth. Go to the butcher at your grocery store and ask for some bones.)

I would assume that feeding a dog glass would do it (kill it I mean). Fruits are ok in moderation to much and you get diarhea. Human food that you can feed him are veges. Such as green beans, peas, carrots, and potatoe peels. Non of these will hurt him. As for meats you shouldn't feed him the type of meat humans eat.

Fruits and veggies are usually ok for dogs - frozen green beans I've heard are good treats. Too much may end up with a belly ache so use moderation. I don't feed my dogs much people food and never table scraps - it leads to begging and fat dogs.

I'm not sure about fruit but never give your dog chocolate it is highly toxic to dogs and can kill them, regular aspirin isn't good for them either. I give my dog cooked chicken meat but never bones because they can choke on them and they can also cause tears in their stomach and intestines I give my dog just about any type of cooked meat but only large bones from the pet store that have been smoked I don't give her pork bones , dried pig's ears because they can coke on them I have seen that first hand, and I don't give my dog those "Greenies" treats that you can get at almost any pet store because I've seen on T.V. that they can break into really sharp pieces and be swallowed by the dog and cause punctures in their digestive systems and cause death. My rule of thumb is if I wouldn't eat or drink it why would I give it to my best friend.
