When a muscle is being exercised constantly its metabolic processes depends upon the availability of Oxygen. At the start when oxygen ,brought by the blood ,is plentiful the process is aerobic and the endproducts are carbondioxide etc. which are eliminated quickly via the bloodstream.
In the long term ,when the oxygen starts to run out,the metabolism switches to ANAEROBIC and here, the by products is LACTIC ACID and related compounds.
Lactic acid stays in the muscles longer (up to 48 hrs) and it is the maim culprit for swelling and pain with tenderness and weakness.
Hope this answers your question.

Because you are using them in a way that they aren't used to and they are reacting to that, after a while they should become used to the routine and they won't be sore. That is why keeping it up is so important, it keeps you from going through that part all the time.lol You get the soreness out and go to the next level, which is more soreness but it's a good soreness. Try warming up more slowly and cooling down after to prevent some of that and from hurting yourself. It does work. Also, make sure you have enough water and electrolytes in your system. a good multivitamin and mineral suppliment is always good to take even if you don't exercise.

Your muscles make stuff called actin and rennin. That is what allows your muscles to expand and contract. When you work out and your body isn't used to it, those substances build up inside of muscle tissues. The stuff breaks down in a few days and your body builds a higher tolerance for the extra work. And, you could be overdoing the exercises and straining your muscles.

Muscles will get sore after exercise if you haven't used them in a while. But muscles will not always hurt after doing much strenuous exercise. I do kung fu, and even after the hardest workouts, my muscles do not get sore. It is only after I skip a couple days and my muscles fall out of constant use that I will get sore

The things that make your muscles hurt is the burning of lactic acid and fat. Also, the fibers that you are using within the muscles are being stretched and under strain, so they are basically repairing themselves and getting stronger.
If you're not sore, your muscles aren't growing.

Because you are exercising. In time that will go away. However, in the beginning, it is normal. For relief, rub the muscles, and take warm showers, that should help in the mean time.

You get Lactic Acid buildup in the muscles, helps if you drink lots of water to help your kidneys flush it out.

well for one if your not used to excersizeing and lets says you start excercising a few days a week . your strainging these muscles in order to gain muscle. But if you start exercising regularly it will hurt afterwards but it will start to hurt less and less because you will have gotten used to it.
