Hey! How much would you expect to pay for the following:
1. Wood and sheetrock to reconstruct a wall where a regular single door was?
2. A gallon of paint? How many gallons would you need for about 12x12 room????? (A light color covering a dark color if that matters how many coats there would be)
3. A closet organizer for a reach-in closet around 6 feet wide. Mostly one w/ shelves and shoe space only small hanging section. Any links for a good closet organizer???

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!! I've had no luck finding any of this online and i want to be able to pull together a good proposition about getting my room redone and i'm having trouble doing this w/out any info!!!!!!!!

Are you doing this yourself or gonna hire someone. If you are gonna do this yourself make sure you have all the power tools otherwise it might cost you more then hiring someone. If you are gonna do this yourself and do have all the tools then lets calculate:

1. $100 or less
2. It really depends there paint can cost as little as 10 bucks a gallon and go upto about 70 bucks. Again if you have all the tools rollers, clothes, buckets, brushes, tape the paint alone for that room. with a minimum of 2 coats, though you might want to get a primer coat first if the color is pretty dark under it. so lets say under $200 bucks.
3.Again, this depends on how much you want to pay. I actually just finished one of these about 2 weeks for a lady friend didn't charge labor and the dimensions where about your size. She chose a white laminate with a few wire shelves and two drawers and a shoe organizer I think it cost her like $280 for the materials.

This is a ballpark if your are doing this yourself.

Two 4'x8' sheets of 1/2" drywall at $8 each.
Five 2"x4"x8' - $3 each.
Drywall compound $10.
Box of drywall screws $5.
1 gal of primer $25.
1 gal of paint $25.
Closet organizer - up to $200.

Lookin' at about $300. Give or take. Only a ballpark figure.

First question I would put in studs...insulate...sheetrock? Someone I know did this for window opening and just put the cheap glue board up..then insul board..siding and to inside we go.
Second: First paint would be a primer for covering dark to light: pricey about eighteen dollars/gallon..go for two. Get paint on sale and get two gallons...tis the season comming up...
Question Three: Froggle...surf the web...

gallon of paint is about 15-30 dollars, depending on brand. probably only need 1 gallon if you use a primer--about $30 dollars.

closet organizer--did mine for about $50-60. i think it was closetmaid. shoe rack will cost a little extra.

about $50.00 at a place like home depot for materials except for the closet organizer, those can be quite expensive. so ithat would depend on your budget.
