"Jew" is rather a poor corruption of "Yahudim" Which means (among other things) worshipers of YHVH. He was the Creator, and made all things, and Adam and "Eve" (her name was HAVAH) were originally followers of Him, and after the Fall, repented and turned back to YHVH in spite of the sin separating them. Since people did not like to stay in the Truth, He was continually calling people out from paganism. Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and on and on. Those who totally follow Scripture are the true "Israelites" or "Yahudim" of today.
