Usually a sore throat is caused by a post nasal drip. Try taking some type of antihistamine to stop the drip. In the mean time, if you gargle warm salt water or ever suck on a piece of candy it can help tons!

The best thing to do is see a Dr.
As a child, we would either mix 2 TABLESPOONS of APPLE CIDER vinegar in an 8 oz glass of water and gargle it (spit it out) or we would put 2 TABLESPOONS of table salt in a glass of warm water and gargle 2 mouth fulls (?) every two hours. It usually worked for us.
