Yes, you can still wear the ribbon. The ribbon says that you are aware of the causes of breast cancer and are taking steps to prevent yourself from being overtaken by the disease--like getting mamograms and self breast checks. It also says that you are supporting research for a cure.

Yes! The breast cancer pink ribbon is for breast cancer awareness. It just means you are aware of the plight of breast cancer and many of us have been friends of survivors and perhaps a family member of a survivor or lost someone with breast cancer. I had a pink ribbon magnet stuck to the back of my vehicle until someone took it off. I give chemotherapy to breast cancer pts.

Of course you can! Please do! The pink ribbons are to show that a person supports breast cancer research. While they are normally worn by someone who has been touched personally by the disease, either by having it themselves or someone they care about having the disease. Anyone can wear these ribbons, and most companies that sell the pins, ribbons, etc normally donate a percent of the proceeds to a charity such as the American Cancer Society.

It is a ribbon of courage...wear it for all the women in the world who have had cancer and survived. Some wear it because cancer of the breast touched someone in their family or close friends. Wear it proudly!

You can absolutely wear the breast cancer ribbon even if you don't have breast cancer! By wearing it you are supporting research and cure for the disease, not informing anyone that you had it.

Sure you can. The ribbon shows that you are a supporter of "breast cancer awareness", you don't have to be someone who's had breast cancer to support it.

Anyone can wear the ribbon or any other ribbon for that matter. It means that you support awareness for that particular issue, such as breast cancer. It can also mean that you support a person who has or has had that illness.

As someone who is fighting breast cancer right now I would like to express my opinion. Like it or not.

The pink pin while it is true shows support of women who have died and who are fighting is a bunch of bullshit.

The fact is companies and sponsors and individuals who promote these pink products are thieves. The proceeds from these sales rarely if ever get to a real issue. All of these foundations and organizations who supposedly support breast cancer are set up as non profit, 501C3's. Which means they get tons of tax breaks.

What these foundations do is employ the unemployable and their unemployable friends and family. Just like the government.

When I didn't have insurance and my money ran out not one, not a single one, was interested in helping. Particularly the Susan Komen foundation. They didn't even return a call. But all of these people have jobs and no one uses a phone. All of the executives are ridiculously overpaid. When you call it has a bogus menus such as press 1 to donate, press 2 to donate, press 3 to donate for race for the cure, etc etc up to number 8 to donate. If you don't believe me call your local chapter.

The IRS should get rid of 501C3's. It's the biggest scam going in business today. Anyone who wants to work for a charitable organization, especially the CEO's and president should do it for one dollar a year.

So ladies, when you want to pay $5.00 for a cute little pink ribbon, remember this answer. Because it's no joke.
