I sit next to a lady, who has really, stinky feet. We get along really well and I don't want to offend her, but I just can't stand it anymore. I find the odour gets worse in the afternoon, as she has a habit of taking her shoes off later in the day. I don't want to embarass her, so I've just made off comments here and there like "do you smell something?" or when there's a group of us in the same area, I will just blurt out "someone's got stinky feet". The hints are not working with her, but I think everyone else I work with is paranoid about their personal hygiene...

she doesnt get the hint because she has grown accustomed to the smell.

All is not lost. Try this:

1. Have an egg salad
2. Get next to her
3. Fart silently

Then remark... omg your feet stinks!

She will be jolted out of her complacency and check her feet. Proceed quickly outside the building to light a cigarette to mask the noxious gas you will release there.

bon appetit!

Talk to her about it. But be very nice and make it seem like she has a medical condition or something. She's going to be mortified, but be gentle as possible. SOme people recommend having a supervisor tell her, but I think that would be even worse for the poor lady.

Talk to the supervisor about this. The supervisor can handle it in private.

By the way, I find that Dr. Scholl's Odor Destroyers spray works really, really well. But don't breathe it in when you spray it.

Get her some deodorant foot powder and talk to her in private. If it doesn't work, ask her not to remove her shoes. If she continues to do so then go to your supervisor because she is being inconsiderate.

You need to stop the 'cute' and sly comments and go directly to personnel. It is their job to deal with just such an issue and they should be able to do it discreetly and without embarrassing anyone,

Get her some OderEaters and give them to her, and say casually, ''I do not want to hurt you, but--you may not know you have a problem with foot oder. I thought these might help''.

Or, go to your supervisor to ''do the dirty deed''.

are you sure it's her ? and it's her feet. if so, a one on one over a cup of coffee. just be honest. If you can't do it , have your supervisor do it.
