Its a mischievous question.
There are terrorists in India mainly funded and supported by Pakistan and some other countries.
But is it more than what it is there in other countries?
Is it not there in USA, Japan, EU, Middle East?
It is there every where. Where there is imbalances in Economic or Social fields it has to be there.
In India perhaps the imbalances are a bit too much due to the fact that the History of India is not of so short period but a very long history of thousands years. The cumulative effects of imbalances are what we seeing today. And todays GOVTS ( irrespective of political ideology ) are currupt to the bone marrow.
Remember what the Late Prime Minister said " Only 10 paisa reaches the actual end beneficiary from every Rupee spent by the Govt". Rest 90 paisa goes into the Pockets of Beaurocrats and Politicians.
Then How and When the Imbalances will get reduced?
That is why there are many local terrorist groups.
Set apart the terrorists funded by Pakistan and some other foriegn powers, these groups are just marginal and natural to local issues of imbalances.
Such conditions do exist in every country. I have trawelled practically every part and country of the world.
Then another condition is that the Democrasy in India has not grown to the point and level of other western countries. For example there is no law to call back an elected representative if found guilty of corruption. Same is the case with Beaurocrats. The Investigator and the investigated being from the same community of Beaurocrats they shield each other, resulting in never finding a Beaurocrat guilty.
Another reason. There is a saying " Justice delayed is Justice denid " What is the condition of our courts today. The cases are pending disposal for decades and many cases gets droped after long periods as some party exists no more on this earth.
These are some reasons for so many local terrorist groups all over India.
The most important factor promoting these terrorist internally are 1. Imbalances - Social and Economical. 2. The Media. Many times exagerates the facts to suite their or their Bosses political ideology and never cares for the true facts.
In such a condition it will be a wonder if there are no terrorists.

Terrorist is not more in India but I can say India may be the only country where terrorism is at a lower level. Still it is here only because of the religious fanaticism. People are basically good so that they had the attitude to forgive and forget. This in fact makes things to take for granted. But the fanatics makes advantage of this character, for which the fake currency which is money and luxury for more of the people who are also likes to live without making hard labour, turns to small crimes and slowly into big crimes, which you call terrorism. But kindly understand one thing, these peoples are not basically strong enough to meet a situation at one-to-one terms. Suppose some thing of this sort happens to their family they will break down easily and will be good for nothing. They are some thing like jackals, they can only work in group and under dark shadow. They done have a character. What they want is some thing to eat in time and some penny to spend now and then on useless things. That is why most of the terrorist group deals in drugs also. I really pity those people. They don't worth even a quarter penny.

Terrorism thrives in a place where it gets support of some sort from some people and leaders, directly and indirectly. Terrrorism stems from revengeful attitude of the have-nots. Terrorism will die of starvation from attempts by the masses backed by the morally upright government which in not the outcome of clandestine nexus with the elements and ranks that are connected with the terrorists.Given all the grounds it is easy to infer why there are so many terrorists in India.

Selfishness had overtaken the feeling of Unity. Differences/diversity are the route causes. We feel better to say as a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, etc.... Tamilian, Malayalee, Punjabi,etc.....SC, ST,BC,MBC,OC,GC,OBC (even Govt. Supports)...etc rather than an INDIAN and it goes.
Only when human mind compares and feels it is inferior then ends up in Terroristic activity.

I am not sure about the statistical figures,where it may be more,but if there is terrorism,then the probable reason as I have understood the reason to be is this.
Lack of Unity.
Unity in this context,is the ability to make major decisions affecting us collectively with one will though individually we have different minds.This type of unity can be acheived only when individual becomes 100 percent submissive to the Holy Will of True God who created all things visible and invisible,living or non-living or simulated-non-living-living beings.
Human nature tends to forget this truth and act contrary to this,truth and neglect the duty of being subsmissive to the will of true God the Creator,because of obstacles in spiritual vision or spiritual blindness.We should work for peace and also pray for peace and pray for spiritual vision.Human beings who help those who work for peace or pray for those who work for peace,directly or indirectly work for peace.
When God blesses humanity's work for peace,terrorism will end once and for all.If we all learn to trust the true God the Creator,all bad things will cease to exist and only good things will happen.

Terrorists are formed from poor people who suffer from poverty. these people try to do anything to earn something for their food. so it is very essential that poverty should be stopped. another reason might be due to personal revenges, communism etc. these could be avoided only if those who are involved in such activities realise on their own that they are doing something wrong
