Then don't diet!!!
1) Don't think of weight loss as fast. Nothing that is going to stay permanent is going to be FAST. If you want to take it off and keep it off, expect a slow process.
2) Don't diet. Dieting gives you guidelines, and unless you want to keep those guidelines for the rest of your life, it's not going to work in the least. Instead CHANGE YOUR DIET! Don't go ON a diet, just change your diet. Weightloss is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.
3) Exercise. Walk or run each and every night-do SOMETHING each not.
As I said, don't expect a quick result. You're going to have to work at this and keep at it while "weighting" for results. It can sometimes take 3+ weeks to see results in your body!

1. You can't just lose all the weight in one quick diet and then go back to your old eating habits and keep the weight off. The weight loss needs to be gradual and the change in eating habits has to be permanent in order to have significant results that last.
2. You are probably getting unmotivated about your diets because they are too extreme. You're trying to lose all the weight at once, and that's just not possible (or healthy). Nutritionists say you should not try to lose more than 1 - 2 pounds per week, or else you will most likely gain it right back. Try just decreasing your caloric intake by about 500 calories per day and doing some moderate exercise. It may take longer to lose the weight, but you will be much more likely to actually attain your goal and to keep the weight off.

You're totally right about dieting...it doesn't work. A lifestyle change is something that you need for long term health. I was searching for something like that as well, and I recently found it and it has absolutely changed my life. It's a total health and wellness system, which cleanses the body of harmful toxins and has great tasting nutricious meal replacement shakes. Well, in 6 weeks I dropped 30 lbs of fat and have kept that off for over a year now. I feel great every day and know I will never gain that weight back. I'd love to share this with you and see if it's something you're interested in. Talk to you soon,
Aaron

A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

The best advise I can give you is to see your family doctor to make sure your thyroid is functioning right. (Mine isn't & I have to take medication & watch what I eat to keep my weight were it should be. I would also suggest you go to your nearest community hospital and ask to speak to the dietist on staff there. The hospital may offer low cost or free seminars, help tools, support groups, etc. that you may not be aware. Also there are two other sources you can try your health insurance carrier or for free/little cost publications by our goverment. I think you can get the materials you might be interested in from Pueblo, AZ. That's where most publications are printed. Your local libariary should be able to help you get these publications & with other reference sources. Walking is a good excerise. Just remember not ever diet works on everyone.

Me too! problem is as you say staying focused. I managed to loose 40 lbs when my dr said to me -- loose weight or die! That worked for awhile but now I am back to my old ways and am frustrated because even though I know the dr said the weight will kill me, I seem to not care -- trouble is it is a slow death that one does not notice until it becomes quite imminent -- I will still try to fight it with renewed resolve, every two weeks if need be. Weight Watchers is just like going to church -- if you are good in that kind of environment it might work for you -- Atkins can kill quicker than fat food. Also get things like your glucose level checked, your blood pressure and your thyroid function -- weight can be affected by those...
