"For the love of money is the root of all evil". "You can not serve two masters". "Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind". What profit is there in seeking out anything other than the Almighty God to be first and foremost in your life? Fear not the one who can only kill the body, fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. We must place our absolute faith in the Eternal Creator of all things. I have never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul yet, and never will. That's because you can't take any of it with you. "Thou fool, this night thy very soul will be required of thee".

How are you defining 'soul'? If you mean the mysterious embodiment of ourselves sepereate from our physical being then i believe he will simply profit whatever he believes has has profited in - in your example most likely money and power. I believe this because I do not believe their is a soul to be lost. If you mean a sense of spirituality or connectedness you may feel when being kind to a fellow human being, and you assume that to gain the whole world required stepping on other people, then he would lose that part of himself if he was right in the mind. If he wasn't then he probably again considers he has profited, most likely in money and power, by the acquisition of the whole world.
It depends on the beliefs of you, the observer, and of the man acquiring the whole world.

Well if a man gains the whole world he must be a worldly man not giving all of his mind, heart, and soul to God. Thus a man would lose his soul. Frienship with the world is enmity towards God. Jesus was shown all of the world by Satan, but Jesus did not chose it, he chose the Father.

Whats the point to gain it if he doesn't have a soul?
Such evil in this world, some men already think the world belongs to them.
In all reality,he wouldn't have anything at all. He would be on very
miserable person.

The soul is the essential part of the self.......therefore, it makes no sense to loose your soul......however, I don't believe in soul loss...(as in, the devil can take your soul to hell, loss)........unless we are speaking of, giving up part of the spirit self, in lieu of earthly riches.....this we can loose.....some people do, and it is a sad state of affairs indeed. The soul is still there but has lost some of it's essence, hollow and numb it becomes, hence the need for soul retrieval

Good question. Even a better scriptural quote. It is about balance. One can have a good life and a good life everafter. Jesus himself said it in John 10:10. His idea is to become abundant without taking from others unjustly.

This will only make sence if you belive in life after death.
Life is but a whif of time compared to what life is to be after death for those who take the time and effort to exercise their soul and help others with exercising their souls.
If you gain all the worldly attributes but have done nothing for your bigger life (after death) then your life was nothing but a waste to yourself and to others.
Your life has ended at death, whereas for someone who works to achieve spiritual greatness for themselves and others, then his life will begin at death.
Spirituality can be exercised while simultaneously achieving worldly goals as well (spiritual carpenter, spiritual athlete, spiritual teacher, spiritual mechanic, etc.)
Hope I haven't over- stepped my bounderies whilst answering your question

It speaks for itself. We are spirits living in a material world. Ain't nothing in this world you can take with you but your soul.

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
