The best suet can be obtained from good quality butchers, but that's not always convenient...All supermarkets stock it, and yes, the best known brand is Atora - though most big chains have their own version.
You can get full fat, light or complete vegetarian. I use the vegetarian and it's great! - brilliant for dumplings and steak and kidney puddings and mixing with seeds to make 'fat balls' *No toilet humour jokes please* ;-) for bird food.
Seems to last forever too!

Here in the US it is sold as bird feed, it's fat and bird seed is put on it and put outside for the birds during winter for fattening them up, keeping them warm. They sell it in Grocery stores and in garden centers for that use. It can be made out of animal fat, so I don't know that they sell it to people in that form in the grocery store. You just melt fat from animals and then pour it into a container and it forms a brick or solid chunk of suet or fat.

yes they do, and i think you can get a lower fat version (although not sure how as i thought it was pure fat). the brand i use is atora, their slogan used to be 'atora suet will do it'.
i just checked on the atora website http://www.atora.co.uk/aboutus/body.htm
they do make a 'light' version, it is made from vegetable oil rather than animal fat and has about 25% less calories
