The chemicals will make you sick and vomit your guts out. You will more likely lose weight than gain.
When you think of someone on chemo, they are typically very thin and sickly looking, sunken eyes, no hair.
Not fun.

As a rule, chemo will make you sick and very nauseous. Not all the time, but there are days. It will also make you loose your appetite. So, yes, it will make you loose weight. Believe me, I just finished getting chemo. They have a lot of new drugs to help with nausea, but sometimes it doesn't always help. Don't worry, though. Everyone reacts different to treatment. I don't know how old you are, or what type of cancer you have, but it's not as bad as it was. Look, if I can get through it you can. It's scary and you just have to remember medical science gets better all the time and God will help you get through this. So will your family and friends. If you need to talk to someone you can e-mail me. Just hang in there. God bless you and I'll be with you in my prayers.

chemotherapy is a toxic substance, that unfortuantely will most likely make you quite ill. Chemotherapy commonly causes nausea and vomitting as a major side-effect. Therefore it is likely that you will lose weight! However there are many other side-effects from other medications/treatment for cancer etc., such as weight gain, or fluid retention which may make if look like you have gained weight. However it is more likely that you will lose some weight with chemo.

It may cause you to loose weight since it kills good and bad cells indiscriminately. Plus, chemo causes nausea in many people---so severe that there is a medicine that helps keep it down called Zofran. If for no other reason, you will lose weight from throwing up (I hope that doesn't happen to you, though.) Good luck and hope you feel better.

Normally people lose weight during their Chemotherapy treatment, but it depends on what drugs your oncologist gives you. "Chemotherapy" actually is a broad term that describes many different drugs that kill cancer cells. My dad just finished his cancer treatment and the chemo made him lose quite a bit of weight. (Between 50-100 pounds!) Part of this was because it made him sick, and part was because he lost his appetite for awhile. Below is a website that I found that you can look at for more detailed information.

devour an apple in the morning, 2 apples and weightloss plan yogurt for lunch, weightloss plan yogurt for a snack, and a pair of apples and a weightloss plan yogurt for dinner and also you should lose as a lot as 2 kilos an afternoon. Sounds uninteresting, yet I´m attempting it the following day. wish it fairly works
