Based on your question, you want to create a music file on your computer from the song on a DVD. It's fairly easy. Download the free program called "Audacity" from the site at the below link. One of the choices on the right side of the upper menu bar has got a down arrow on it. Usually it says "Line In". Change that to "What You Hear". Leave that program running, and start your DVD. When it comes time to record the song, click on the "Record" button in Audacity, and on the stop button when the song is completed. Then click on "Export As WAV", to a folder of your choice. Now you can do with that .wav file as you wish.

To cut a DVD u need new version of VCD cutter that is 4.14, that allows to to cut DVD sequences and put it in avi or mpeg format, or split audio and so so..

google for dvd2avi or download it from doom9.org load the vob files of your dvd, select both in and out points, then save the project. dont forget to check "audio-output method-decode to wav" or use demux if you can play ac3 files. piece of cake.
