I have been shooting for about 6 or 7 years. I currently use a d200 nikon digital slr. The person that has asked me to shoot for her only wanted the wedding shot. I am used to shooting on a per hour basis.

Check http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html for how much other event photographers are charging in your area.

Think of how many photographs you are going to take and then make it worth your while. 30 pictures, 60+ or less? For one photograph I would take at least 20. I would say if you put them in a photo album and give her the CD with the proofs, at least $200. Processing fees, gas, your time, it all adds up.

i would still caharge for an hour. when you consider set up time and finding the right spot and everything it can't be that far off. and if it's not a wedding you would attend without working then it is still work!
