I don't see a date on the bottle, but still not sure. What about other hot sauces?

On www. Tabasco.com, it says the shelf life is 5 YEARS when stored in a cool, dry place.

You can also find out when the bottle was manufactured (and thus figure out the expiration date) by going to the "Info Booth" section of the web site and clicking on the "Consistency and Shelf Life" FAQ then selecting the "How do I read the date code on a bottle of Tabasco sauce?"

As for other hot sauces, it's probably a couple of years too (unless they have an expiration date on the bottle).

Tabasco is a pretty good hot sauce, I think every hot sauce expires after some period, but it's just like any other food product. I think it would expire like in a year or two so DONT worry. I think that Frank's Red Hot is pretty good too. Try it:)

Usually vinegar added products do not tend to expire quickly. They figure the product will be used before it expires. Vinegar is a very good preservative. Many of your hot sauces have vinegar in them. To be on the safe side, it's not a bad thing to double to be sure when purchasing hot sauce and keep it in the frig if product suggest it.

Not Really as it is vinegar based, but it will begin to look and taste a bit off. however, it shouldnt make you sick. on the other hand if your hot sauce is older than a year (your not using enough) you should throw it out and buy a new bottle...they are fairly cheap.
and you should be using Cholula hot sauce it is the best.

After thinking for a bit - How would one tell if it went bad? I think sooner or later everything will go past its safe use period. I complain on diet soda that turn acidic before sugar sweeten soda - why can't they all have an expiration date - You bring out a point that all packaged products have a printed expiration date.

Hot sauce doesn't go bad because they are made with vinegar.

In my experience, hot sauce seems to keep forever in the refrigerator. I can't imagine microbes living in that stuff.

I don't think it goes bad. If it does, it takes a really long time.
