Alcohol affects your brain by killing brain cells. Any time you destroy your brain cells, the functions of the brain are affected. Since vision and balance are controlled by your brain, they are affected by alcohol.

Alcohol is a deadly poison. It impairs the functioning of the brain and kills neurons there. It sounds a little like you like the effect of alcohol poisoning! That's a good signal to avoid it because it can easily become addictive and destroy your life. If you find yourself at a party where it is consumed just resist the peer pressure to join in and instead ask for a ginger ale or a sprite.

Different people metabolize alcohol at different rates. It also depends on if you ate anything before you started drinking. If you don't eat, then the alcohol goes straight into your bloodstream, thus getting you drunk much quicker than if you have food in your stomach first.
