How to I get a cd to automatically play audio files like an MP3 player? The cd says it can only play 80 minutes of audio and yet it can hold around 600MB of storage. What can i do to have the "storage files" read by a cd player as audio?

I have a lot of different formats on the cd, including mp3. The files play on the computer but all the cd players I've tried read it as one track that doesn't work.

When you add media to the cd in Windows Media Player it says "80 minutes free" then as you add stuff that number goes down, so I don't think the 80 is just for video.

the 80 minutes refers to 80 minutes of standard cd audio. if your referring to your computer cd-rom,make sure your cd drive is set for autoplay.

to check go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager and make sure autoplay is checked.

an even easier way to make sure is to download tweakui from microsoft.com and use it to tweak your computer including setting autoplay on drives, automatic logon/logoff and the like...

create a cd of mp3 files, insert into the cd-rom and if it doesn't launch automatically,a window may pop up asking what you would like to do,select play using media player and make sure 'do this everytime' is checked at the bottom and click 'ok'. now when you insert an mp3 cd,it should launch automatically.

if your referring to a cd walkman-style player make sure it's an mp3 cd player, not just a cd player. mine is a panasonic and i load a full disc of mp3s and then have ususally about 10 hrs of music per cd. i bought it before i got an ipod and it's an inexpensive alternative to the ipod.

when creating a cd full of mp3 files,i'd probably avoid organizing them into folders as this can confuse most mp3 media players. instead just load all the songs onto the disc as about 200 data files(mp3 files) and enjoy...

Make sure, that your CD player can read MP3 files (although I don't think there are any that can't any more)
I didn't quite get your question, but the 80min on the CD are for Video, not for Audio.
