I'm 26 years old & I'm afraid of baseballs & bats. Is that normal?

It isn't funny that you got attacked (similar thing happened to my brother months ago and he hasn't been the same) but when I read about your fear of baseballs and bats, I thought it was a little cute. (Sorry!)

"Protection" wouldn't be an issue. There are many ways to protect someone. Speak up for her needs when she can't and/or no one else is listening. If she's in the hospital, call the doctor and know what's going on. Take her side.

Fortunately, most of life's conflicts aren't so violent.

Oh--and now that I think of it--running from blunt objects aimed at your body is probably a *good* idea.

I am very proud of the fact that I can protect myself. thank you very much...
Protection is not the first thing a woman thinks about when she likes a guy.
She may not ever think about it. Come on you knew that!!

Besides if a baseball bat hit me and then chased after me I would run too!!

What does that have to do with what's important in life? I'd look for if you were able to provide for me financially and emotionally, not if you were afraid of baseball bats. But then I don't care about sports. I suppose it depends on the girl. But I wouldn't worry about it so much. I'd be more worried about you being so concerned about it than the actual incident.

Fight or flight (run) is the normal human biological response to danger. Flight (running) is the logical choice to an armed attacker. Just one blow to the head could leave you permanently disabled and bedridden or in a wheelchair for life, or you could lose your life, and your wife would lose you.

If your wife really loved you, she would want you to live to see another day, because a bruised ego can't permanently disable you or kill you.

Nevertheless it couldn't hurt to take up martial arts and carry a legal weapon of your own in the event you are unable to flee from an armed attacker, you would be prepared as best as you could to protect both you and your wife, and she would see you as taking every precaution to protect her.

I would think that a baseball-phobia merits some psychiatric assistance. But it wouldn't matter if you were able to protect me or not. I know martial arts — I can take care of myself.

If you have very good credit and over six figure income then you can run all you want. to a smart woman especially if you grab and pull her with you won't mind. Also remember that you have to be a man of honor not a perv whenever someone appeals to you through their answer.

yeah i would, you only protected yourself. My ex bf, when we were dating in HS, we were walking back to the dorms(yeah on the reservations there are dorms in HS) a drunk dude came out of the darkness and hit my bf with a chain and i think the guy's intention was to rob us or worse but my bf then stood up against the guy and disarmed the guy and ran him off, once back at the dorms he rounded up his buddies and found the guy and gave him a bad beating-he said no one messes with him and worst not to cause harm to his gf. he has defended me more than once and he is still my hero in my book.
