The professor's assistant (flying robot)keeps on floating around collecting the information for him. Also, it monitors as a security.
If we could make one like that i feel that could be converted in to a dust extractor for houses(especially residences in indian cities)
Floating around inside house purifying air around. Can we develop this further.

probably yes.. using a jet of air for levitating (like the hovercraft)

Yes it is very possible. Magnetism. In Europe, I believe, the trains run on a magnetic track so that they float just slightly above the track so as to reduce friction allowing the vehicle to travel faster. If you could make a magnetic floor with say a large electromagnet then another magnetic item would suspend above it. The item would have to be stabilized so that it did not flip over and have unlike poles facing which will of course attract not repel. My friend has a gadget called a "Magnetron" which looks like a spinning top so when you spin it above the magnetic base it hovers until the centrifugal force created by the spin is reduced as it slows down.
