If you have severe acne, an over-the-counter product will not give you results. Don't waste your money on these products pushed in infommercials either because they are crap, and in some instances can make your acne worse. Bottom line, you need prescription strength medication from a Dermatologist. I highly recommend "Accutane" which is a once-daily prescription medication that will totally blow acne out of the water.
Again, its only available by prescription and monthly blood tests are required to check cholesterol levels, since this medication can increase them. Also, if you are a woman, you will be required to take a monthly pregnancy test before your next refill since Accutane can cause severe birth defects.
Once you start the treatment protocol, though, it only takes 4-6 months on the program for the acne to be completely gone.

A lot of people who think they have acne actually have rosacea and no acne remedy will help rosacea - it's actually a condition of the capillaries that looks like acne but isn't. You need to see a dermatologist if you haven't already. Check the following link for more info on this serious condition.

I really think Lomalux works (it is a small tablet). They sell it at Walgreens and Target. If you take the prescribed amount for a month a lot of it will go away. Also, try washing your face with Nuetrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask twice/day and then use a light oil-free moisturizer.
Recently I started breaking out massively and I went back on Lomalux. I had not had to take it for 2 years. I also decided to try "Primal Defense" which is a probiotic and helps detox your system a bit. Drink lots of water and take a daily vitamin as well!

ACNE:
Steep 1 Tbsp. dried basil in 1 cup boiling water for 20 minutes. Apply this solution to the acne with a cotton ball.
Before going to bed, apply pure lemon juice to the acne, and leave it on until morning, then wash it off with warm water.
Dab some toothpaste with fluoride in it on the zits at night before you go to bed. They should be much better in the morning.
Dab some real mayonnaise on the pimple at night before going to bed. It should be much better by morning.
For acne, gently scrub the area with a mixture of coarse salt and a few drops of tea tree oil. Rinse well, then apply a facial or body mask of either plain yogurt, sour cream, or buttermilk, leaving it on for thirty minutes, then rinsing skin very well, and patting dry with a clean, white towel.
Put some Visine on a Q-tip and dab onto the pimple to lessen the redness of it.

Go see a Dermatologist, I took Monodox in high school, it worked great. I would never take Acutane, one of the side effects is depression and suicidal tendencies. You also have to sign a waiver realeasing the pharacutical company from liablity if youkill yourself because of the drug. Tell your Doc to try several other things first and drink lots of water.

Acne can also be caused by an allergic reaction from something you eat or drink.
All her life my sister-in-law drank milk and ate ice cream, then one day her face broke out so bad it was hideous, she went to a dermatologist and they ran tests and it was milk products.
She has to stay away from it. She now has her beautiful complexion back.

Honey remedy for Skin Blemishes......Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a band-aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.
